Claire and Oliver met through their friends wedding activities in the spring of 2021. Claire, the maid of honor, and Oliver, a groomsman, met in Midland, Texas at a wedding shower and reconnected at the wedding in Houston soon after.

Somewhere between lending Claire his PFG shirt at the pool so she wouldn't get sunburned before the wedding, and Oliver cutting in on the dance floor, they had an immediate connection!

Oliver, living in Midland at the time, asked Claire if he could take her on a date in Dallas, and the rest is history!

Oliver and Claire had their first official date at a Texas Rangers game that summer. Soon after, they began their long distance relationship between Midland and Dallas, but knew they wanted to be in the same city ASAP!

Oliver moved to Dallas in December of 2021, and their first year together was filled with spending lots of time with friends and family and even traveling abroad to London and Ireland together!

On September 23, 2022, Oliver asked Claire if she wanted to go to a nice dinner together before her family arrived for the SMU game that weekend. They had a lovely dinner and Oliver then suggested they go meet his brother, Luke, at his company's "Save The Lake Foundation" fundraiser event for an after dinner cocktail.

She agreed, but when Oliver pulled up to the first dock, and Claire didn't see Luke or a fundraiser event, she knew what was happening! Oliver walked Claire out to the dock and asked her to marry him! Lots of happy tears were shed and Oliver had a surprise engagement party back at the house where they celebrated with family. It was the perfect day!
